Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

Brantley, Wolfe and Penny getting ready to go sledding.
Brantley is about to go to her fort inside the "pine grove" in our backyard.
Brooke is playing in the snow for the first time! She loved it!
Brantley's first snow angel of the year. Since this it has snowed alot more. We have gotten at least 6 inches.
Brooke on her first sled ride. Brantley loves being a big sister!

2 Little Monkeys...

Brooke and her friend Lily were playing in her room today... let me rephrase that, were destroying her room today...and decided to fix each other's hair - with diaper cream!

I know that it is not water soluble, so I'm assuming I'll have a difficult time at bath time. Any suggestions?

"Mess, Mommy, Mess" followed later by "Dirty, Mommy,Dirty"

Just as I finished my last post, this is what Brooke said to me. I turn around and she had McDonald's caramel sauce all over her. Therefore: "Mess, Mommy, Mess". I don't even know where the caramel came from. It's not like we were eating lunch or anything. I cleaned her up in the sink. She then just had on a diaper - which I realized was dirty. I plopped her down on the floor and told her to go and get a clean diaper and wipes. She returns with a clean diaper and the book, "Skip to My Lou". I then tell her that we still need wipes. You may be thinking at this point, "Why doesn't Leah just go and get the wipes herself?" Well, now that I have figured out that Brooke can do a few things by herself, I have gotten a little lazy ... ;-) Anyways, she never comes down with the wipes but she does bring me her dirty diaper that she has pulled off. Therefore: "Dirty,Mommy,Dirty". I don't have any pics of this. I was too horrified to grab the camera. After making sure that she hadn't sat down on anything, back in the sink she went. She is now perfectly clean and loved her bath in the sink.
I, on the other hand, am not clean yet. Still in pjs...

My Southern Blood Has Frozen Solid!

We don't have this much snow here, but we might as well! The windchill was -10 when the kids went to school today! The actual temp. is around 9 degrees F. Burrrr!!!
I am "carless" today because it got soo cold here that one of the parking brake cables on my car froze solid and it had to be replaced. Apparently just thawing it out wouldn't do the trick - ridiculous I say! My Southern car just can't seem to adjust. ;-)
Just me and Brooke here today. Jeremy is off to the even more bitter North (all the way to Maine!) and will return late this week. I did beg him to bring in lots of firewood for me and he did me right. thanks, sweetie!
So Brooke and I will thaw by the fire all day.
Aloha! (Just saying that warms my blood...)
